Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and preparing tax returns, including individual, S corporate, corporate, and partnership returns, in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Conducting tax research on complex issues and providing guidance to clients and colleagues.
- Assisting in tax planning and consulting for clients, including identifying tax savings opportunities and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Communicating and building relationships with clients to address their tax-related concerns and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assisting with tax audits and representing clients before tax authorities, as needed.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to junior staff members and reviewing their work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or EA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or a related field
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using tax software such as Prosystems Fx or Axcess Tax
- Experience with general ledger accounting, budgeting, regulatory reporting, and asset management
- Familiarity with debits, credits, and other financial concepts
