Tax Operations Analyst
Whippany, NJ

As a Barclays Tax Operations Analyst, you will perform operational processes in accordance with procedures to remain compliant with IRS requirements. This role manages daily reconciliation of withholding, deposits in accordance with the IRS prescribed schedule, and 1099 and 1042S information reporting. You will support internal and external client inquiries in relation tax processing.

What will you be doing?

  • Performing daily withholding reconciliation and IRS deposits
  • Participating in year-end Tax Reporting process including: preparation of data in accordance with procedures, ensuring timely distribution of 1099/1042-S reports to clients, etc
  • Acting as US Tax subject matter expert for the firm’s change programs
  • Being responsible for performing user acceptance testing on system enhancements and builds
  • Remediating anomalies in tax processes and recommend control improvements
  • Reviewing and continually improving departmental procedures to ensure documentation is up to date and control standards are being adhered to
  • Developing ongoing awareness of the tax regulatory landscape and the firm’s adherence to tax reporting obligations

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience of IRS Tax Reporting, Withholding, and Deposits
  • Working knowledge of Broadridge BPS, TMS, 1099 Pro, and CTI Suite Product
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Dynamic and willing to challenge status quo, recommend improvements and pro-actively enhance current processes
  • Experience with/knowledge of operations functions within financial services
  • Ability to develop relationships with internal clients to understand and address their needs
  • Basic Sharepoint administration and MS Access skills
