The Accounting Analyst, Development Trainee will train directly under manager level leadership on key accounting, inventory, cost controls and analytical projects. As a part of the program, we are seeking future leaders who are entrepreneurial and problem solvers while providing a platform for candidates to prepare for a corporate finance and accounting career. The selected trainee will also contribute to real time through projects and problem-solving opportunities while completing a degree, if not already completed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and implementation of inventory projects, as assigned, to ensure that proper and cost-effective controls are included in systems and processes.
- Supports existing inventory operations/responsibilities as assigned:
- Completes or ensures completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks.
- Evaluates operational performance of inventory responsibilities to ensure accuracy and compliance, measuring against desired results, updating control points and reporting.
- Assists inventory teams in data investigation, reporting, and analysis as needed.
- Performs assigned reporting and analytical activities to provide timely delivery of financial information to appropriate company management that accurately measures financial results and enhances decision making.
- Supports departmental and center-wide initiatives and goals.
- Assists with inventory functions as assigned:
- Analyzes and assists with delegating and completing assigned Inventory tasks.
- Communicates issues with External Partners, Legal, Finance and Operations.
- May assist in training and development of team members.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
- Currently pursuing or completed bachelor’s degree (completion by May 2025 required) in one of the following majors: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management with a 3.0 minimum GPA.
- Possess strong analytical, decision making and conceptual skills.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of business operations and the ability to lead cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrate strong independent work ethic with the ability to manage projects without close supervision.
- Possess excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with various departments at different levels to achieve outlined business goals.
- Experienced with data mining and independently analyzing data to provide recommendations to management.
- Working knowledge of SQL query tools and Microsoft Excel for data retrieval and basic analysis along with familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for common and daily tasks.
