Position Overview
Under supervision, serves as the associate analyst for the Derivative Settlement Group. This entails daily routine processing tasks including validation of new trades, settlement of collateral, and settlement of derivative payments. The associate is expected to be an independent thinker who manages their own projects and assists other teammates in their projects.
Responsibilities
- Processes the routine day to day duties associated with the group’s task list.
- Daily collateral management including trade valuation, interaction with external trade counterparties, and settlement of activities
- Trade capture of all derivative activity
- Derivative Reporting
- Confirmation Management
- Reconciliations with dealers and accounting system
- Interest payment processing on all external and internal positions
- Monitoring of Reasonableness of Derivative Valuation
- Weekly and Monthly internal collateral reporting
- Regulatory Reporting (incl. Dodd-Frank) Compliance Management
- ISDA and FCM legal document management
- Assisting senior analysts and analysts
- Maintaining regular and predictable attendance
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Science, or equivalent working experience AND
- 1-2 years related work experience related industry experience dealing with securities operations processes INCLUDING 1+years of global derivative processing
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Science, or equivalent working experience AND
- Internship at a Financial Services Firm dealing with derivative activities
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Science, or equivalent working experience AND
- RGA Internship
Preferred:
- 3+ years related work experience related industry experience dealing with securities operations processes
- Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge OR
Banking or Brokerage industry knowledge
Required:
- Clear interest in deepening knowledge of derivative instruments
- Demonstrated Ability to deal with complex issues and solve problems both within teams and independently
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
- Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects
- Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/ objectives.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
- Ability to work independently
- Basic knowledge of derivative processing
- Basic knowledge of ISDA documentation
- Word and Excel abilities
- Programming skills in SQL and/or Python or equivalent language.

The general pay range for this position is $65K - $75K base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
