Job Evaluation: A role at Target Packaging is an opportunity to lead packaging development for Target's iconic brands, exclusive partnerships and select carrier packaging. Your influence will increase sales and build brand love through customer-centric, on-brand, self-competing, and relevant packaging styles. Here, you will be involved in internal and external relationships to carry out packaging planning, project management, print development, publishing and organizational development to achieve brand expression and market differentiation. Your role will be to prioritize and manage packaging operations, securing the right materials and creative needs to save time and budget. As part of a global team that spreads in the United States, China and India, you will have relationships with overseas offices, as well as national sales and retailers. You will support the design and development of new, improved, sustainable and cost effective materials and tools.
As an Associate Packaging Engineer, you will:
Ensure primary packaging will protect, contain and present product from first impression using end to end for assigned department and business.
Support business commitments and requirements through item-level specifications. Actively participate in the prototyping and development of Target's creative packaging design for our brand products.
Works across the company with key internal and external partners to define packaging requirements and identify the best packaging solutions. Be the lead packaging specialist for the assigned department by working under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Packaging Engineer.
Review vendor configuration options and resource capabilities
Organizational solutions that provide financial savings, support and other essentials
Develop and refine design specifications for product packaging. Support timely supplier strategies.
Contribute to market level analysis of teams and products, including customer testing and feedback. Draw conclusions from relevant data and make appropriate recommendations.
Is required:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience
2-4 years of experience
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests and meet deadlines
Motivation to learn new skills, with a passion for engineering and design
Ability to work independently and systematically in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Social skills, communication and organizational skills
Experience with Artios CAD and ESKO products and PMP certification preferred
Prior experience in project management, Scrum or Sprint processes required
