Full Job Description:
Energy Science's team supports all branches of the residential energy industry (solar hardware engineering, installation services, supply chain / infrastructure, customer experience, design / logistics and land). The group supports several high profile projects including:
Development, implementation and analysis of the pipeline of rules based on machine learning for forecasting work, resource planning, customer service time planning and improving the efficiency of the installation.
Design new data pipelines and improve the performance of existing data pipelines that produce software (scheduling, design, contract / pricing), project reporting teams and other stakeholders depending on the company.
The Energy Data Science team works as a key support system to identify and solve high-tech issues that drive Tesla Residential Energy efficiency, but those issues require data science solutions. what to do
Upgrade and optimize the existing workflow compensation pipeline to support planning software automation efforts
Collect and present reliable and reducible datasets for engineers who will use machine learning engineers in training/model support.
Work closely with engineers and perform end-to-end analysis, from data requirements gathering to data processing and analysis
Define and analyze key product and pipeline metrics, understand the reasons for changes in these metrics
Obtain data from primary or secondary data sources and manage databases/data systems to facilitate operational analysis and research
Create analytics and build pipelines through ETL-based SQL and Python processes
Drives improvement of underlying data systems by working with operational leaders
Perform data validation to ensure data integrity meets customer requirements
Translate complex data into performance metrics, analyze results using statistical methods, and report on observed trends/patterns.
Works with management to prioritize business needs and information
What to bring
Essential Skills - Specific Roles
Extensive experience writing product code using Python
Experience with end-to-end delivery of data pipelines consumed by production software
Experience with multiple data architecture principles (relational, unstructured, hierarchical)
Knowledge of various data communication systems (REST API, GraphQL, RPC)
Very good at version control (Git)
Very good at complex command line operations (bash, zsh)
Integration implementation experience and team analysis for product code
Experience using tools like Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes to deploy software
