STATEMENT OF DUTIES
General Statement Of Duties:
Develops educational material and curriculum utilizing current educational practices to present and facilitate educational programs for Colorado Judicial Branch employees.
Distinguishing Factors:
The Education Specialist classification is distinguished from the Training Administrator classification by the stronger emphasis on training and facilitating courses. The Education Specialist will not have responsibility for policy development for the unit.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
***This position will remain open until filled after meeting the minimum five-day requirement, with a first review date of Monday, May 7, 2024, and subsequent reviews every five days thereafter.
This position will primarily include facilitation, administrative and instructional assistance for both in-person and virtual trainings. Experience teaching and facilitating programing related to mentoring, coaching, leadership development and skill building preferred. Other responsibilities will include committee work, technical assistance, and general support for outside facilitators. General technical knowledge related to AV equipment and setup at venues preferred. Knowledge of accessibility. This position will serve Judicial Officers, and leadership across the 23 Judicial Districts throughout Colorado.
This position is in the Administrative Division of the State Court Administrator’s Office which is located in Denver at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center. We operate from a flexible workplace arrangement policy where both remote and in-person work are utilized on an individual basis. Travel up to 25%.
The hiring salary for this position will be at the beginning of the listed salary range.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates with court and probation managers, supervisors, and employees in the design and development of training curriculum and course material.
May chair committees in charge of developing training courses.
Assists in planning and organizing retreats and cooperative training events including securing training location, lodging, materials, and trainers.
Collects evaluations at the closing of training, compiles results and provides reports on training effectiveness. Identifies trends in training evaluations and makes recommendations.
Provides training and presentations and facilitates discussions in a learning format independently or as a co-trainer/facilitator.
Adjusts training to fit participant needs.
Communicates effectively with probation and court staff, other governmental agencies, private contractors, and the public.
Creates reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other materials in a timely manner.
Remains current with training concepts, trends, and technology.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONT.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsibility for one's own work product and work within a unit performing similar functions. Rarely provides lead function, advice, or explains work instructions to other employees or volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university and three years of training or comparable work experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position is subject to many interruptions and may be required to handle multiple calls and inquiries at once. The employee must cooperatively operate in a team environment or independently as required. The noise level is usually moderate.
