Events and Engagement Associate
The Old Globe seeks a full-time Events and Engagement Associate to assist and support the Events Director. With a budget of nearly $35 million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe, located in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park, is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. Known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays, the Globe annually produces 15 productions, including a “Globe for All” touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.
The Events and Engagement Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Philanthropy Department in managing and executing Globe events and initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement, donor development, and corporate partnerships. The Events and Engagement Associate will assist the Events Director in multiple areas, including but not limited to events production, budget management, events marketing and promotion, corporate donor development, and administrative support. They will also oversee the staff scheduling and shopping for the Globe’s donor lounge, the Lipinsky Family Suite.
This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for the arts, branding, community outreach, and a keen eye for design and aesthetics, ensuring that events reflect the organization's brand and mission. The successful candidate will have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Workspace, and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Hospitality, Event Planning, Nonprofit, or a related field.
Hourly pay range is $27.50-$30.00. Full-time position hourly position with benefits including 401(k), vacation, health insurance, and holidays. Must be able to pass applicable background check.
