HOW YOU WILL HELP US ASCENT (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

The Executive Recruiting Manager will work directly with senior leadership across all Delta divisions to mentor and support the growth of our greatest strength, our people. This individual will lead, manage, inspire, train and motivate the Executive Lead Recruiter to achieve recruiting goals and drive short- and long-term initiatives. The ideal candidate is an outstanding leader and has a strong commitment to the collective business and individual success of their team. 

The Executive Recruiting Manager personally assists and coaches his or her team to align both talent and Delta's diversity, equity and inclusion strategies with hiring decisions, identify creative and diverse sources of qualified talent, filter talent effectively, help hiring managers make trade-offs between talent quality and speed to hire and advise executive leaders on the key skills or characteristics that matter most to recruitment.

Summary of responsibilities (not exhaustive of all duties): 

  • Provide thought and strategic partnership to executive leadership, including a deep understanding of our business and ecosystem and how outside talent can impact our growth.
  • Define, build and implement leadership recruiting programs and seek engagements for a variety of senior leadership roles. This includes understanding and mapping the talent landscape, internally calibrating and benchmarking, and matching those data points to external talent supply.
  • Lead recruiting efforts into officer-level roles. Work with executives and talent acquisition managers to determine current and future executive talent acquisition needs, talent gaps, and identify target talent groups 
  • Drive end-to-end leadership-level research engagements from candidate outreach to pre-employment onboarding, including research, engagement strategies, candidate experience, negotiations, and status reporting to all partners along the way.
  • Conduct thoughtful and sophisticated candidate interviews that methodically demonstrate the full range of a candidate's capabilities, explore their aspirations and gain insight into their readiness to fill the target role and assess how effectively they would integrate into the organisation. Cultivate trusting relationships with candidates, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and concerns. Serve as a skilled problem solver, facilitator and coach in final negotiations. Gather and maintain accurate market, customer and candidate information to facilitate both the research process and our overall market intelligence efforts.
  • Create and maintain competitive data and insights that will give Delta's talent acquisition strategies a competitive edge, including: 
  • Track top talent in target organizations 
  • Challenge the status quo and influence hiring decisions with internal mobility and various hiring best practices 
  • Conduct thorough research, evaluate the industry and keep this information up to date 
  • Effectively identify and partner with external recruitment firms for targeted searches 
  • Communicate and collaborate with business partners and stakeholders across the business. 
  • Follow established talent acquisition processes and use of technologies (ATS, etc.) to ensure data accuracy. Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Development Manager to create training content and build capacity within the Executive Recruiting team 
  • Work with the Talent Recruiting Marketing team to differentiate Delta's unique career opportunities, benefits, and rewards, and leverage a consistent, compelling message that delivers the most meaningful motivations to potential candidates.
  • Advise the Talent Acquisition Assessment Program Leader on opportunities for improvement and on the creation of assessment materials identifying relevant skills and job criteria; identifies, adopts, and evangelizes best practices that ensure high-quality hiring practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS) 

  • 2+ years of professional talent acquisition experience, ideally supporting executives in recruiting for leadership roles.
  • Demonstrable experience in identifying, engaging and closing high caliber passive candidates 
  • Experience working with C-suite founders and executive teams. Previous use of talent market insights and data to influence decisions within leadership groups and cross-functional teams 
  • Experience building relationships in a global company.
  • Passion for solving problems, developing creative strategies and generating significant impact. Strong proven experience and knowledge in leadership recruitment or executive talent acquisition.
  • Demonstrated personal responsibility and integrity. 
  • Ability to define and execute a search strategy with multi-channel creative sourcing to source top talent 
  • Ability to work in any job role. 
  • Effective partner with hiring managers and teams, especially at the executive level 
  • Excellent verbal communicator and active networker. 
  • Ability to distill sophisticated information into an organized and consumable format with a focus on content, tone and structure. 
  • Responsible and effectively manages time and process in all roles 
  • Excellent candidate relationship experience 
  • High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalent 
  • Understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment in relation to procurement, selection and contracting is required; It is strongly preferred to include EEO, OFCCP and Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures.
