Disney Worldwide Shared Services (DWSS)/Corporate is a growing group of process and accounting professionals providing accounting services to The Walt Disney Company (including all business lines). In a fast-paced environment, this role involves high-level interaction with multiple business and departmental administrative staff. Reporting to the Historical Manager, Financial Accounts, this position represents a unique opportunity to support the team in providing accounting expertise, creating process improvements and making sure to support key management.
The Property and Lease Accounting Department implements guidelines on corporate leasing and leasing accounting worldwide. The group assists in Consumer Products, Gaming and Publishing (CPGP), specifically supporting brick-and-mortar e-commerce business lines. This position will be essential in providing technical expertise and high quality production related to mortgage accounting, real estate transactions and CPGP.
Functions:
Daily accounting and reporting services for real estate companies
Preparation, preparation, review and analysis of the management accounting system for month-end, quarter-end and year-end.
Preparation and analysis of journal entries and short balance accounts
Evaluate contracts using the appropriate ASC 842 and/or IFRS 16 treatment.
Review of ASC 842 Amortization Schedule Calculation for Leases
System development and associated testing
Responsible for research and response to requests from business units. Technical research and brainstorming to find ways to solve problems.
Provide analytical support to the finance team for annual and quarterly AOP forecasting processes. Analysis and preparation of monthly and quarterly P&L and various audits
SOX, government services and tax compliance
Manage requests from internal and external auditors.
Preparation of 10K/10Q related reports and quarterly earnings
Ad hoc project work and reporting on business unit requests.
