POSITION SUMMARY
This Financial Systems Manager will lead the development, implementation, and administration of the organization’s FP&A applications for the entire enterprise. This role will be responsible for financial systems projects, including managing contract staff and may train and/or mentor staff. This position will be challenged as an application administrator and will involve a high level of independent judgment, accuracy, initiative, responsibility, and leadership.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Manage the monthly closing and calculation processes from a systems perspective, including Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Profitability.
- Manage and oversee the administration of Hyperion Financial Planning, both on premise and in the cloud.
- Maintain controlled processes for loading and validating data.
- Oversee metadata changes in Planning and Profitability, including mapping and support system security.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Hyperion Financial Reporting reports, SmartView reports, and ad-hoc reports, as requested.
- Ensure proper change management, problem management, and security management activities in support of the Hyperion environment.
- Establish, manage and/or execute monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance processes for profitability, plan, and forecast in Hyperion.
- Lead system configuration / modification to support acquisitions, divestitures, retrospective application of new planning approaches, and execute plans, e.g., develop reports to meet local reporting requirements.
- Lead and oversee Planning and other finance systems projects. Responsible for managing contract and consulting staff and ensure project remains focused on scope, on budget and on time.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of data sources and data outputs.
- Create and implement process improvements, which includes testing, validating, and documenting change process.
- Responsible for training new users and assisting current users.
- Partner with and provide support for the internal and external reporting teams.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration degree preferred.
- 6-8 years of finance, accounting and systems related experience required.
- 5+ years Hyperion administration, consulting, or support experience.
- Experience as a project lead responsible for managing consulting staff.
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, and/or FDMEE.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Practical knowledge of a business-oriented programing language preferably VB, Groovy or Python.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint skillsets (VBA, etc.)
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to use a customer service first approach.
- Proven proactive problem solving and process improvement skills, with an orientation toward positive change and ability to support 4-5 applications simultaneously.
- Detail orientated and organized with the ability to multitask and be a collaborative team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen to support profitability reporting, forecast / budget reporting, and M&A activities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX & FX.
- Ability to speak, write, and comprehend English.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is an individual contributor; a working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.
