The Motion Picture Labs is looking for a Technical Finishing Manager, in this role, you will be the link between the Finishing team and the technical support team including engineering, network configuration, security, image and color and software development to provide 24/7 full enough. support for DI completion projects. You will also be responsible for working with key stakeholders to ensure the health and optimal performance of production facilities for the completion of Marvel Studios. You will report to the Director, Motion Picture Labs Finishing at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. As a member, your role will require constant commitment and involvement in all departments. You will help guide the technical staff in implementing the best practices and influence the decisions that affect the pipeline and the overall concept of success. You will develop custom pipeline tools, integrating with all relevant developments in these areas of our pipeline.
You will work together with all the departments that work on the production team and create the requirements for the work process or project. You will be the primary point of contact for technical questions related to product development. This role will be coordinated with all relevant technical teams to define needs, analyze potential risk areas, prepare solutions and provide timely feedback to direct their efforts to support and improve all processes that affect completion. You will have a day to work with the production engineering team, including 1st line technical support team work, after-hours call support, and the delivery of the network related to the project work of production and large exposure to multiple output. network.
Specific work
Expertise in DaVinci Resolve and Baselight systems focuses on the collaborative level of work. Provide front-end support across disciplines, organize resources and shoots, and assist practitioners with general issues. Review artist requests, resolve issues and escalate to appropriate engineering team. Work with software development and project teams to test and validate software and implementation processes. Work with the engineering team to test and deliver new and improved software systems. Build custom applications and solution pipelines, automate troubleshooting, and/or find workarounds to address roadblocks.
Focus on automation and improving processes and overall workflow
Collaborate with development team to better understand user needs to improve and implement software solutions for production end users
Create a work flow specification document for each project if necessary. Collaborate with the appropriate team to ensure the correct balance between software, monitoring, and user interface between artists and systems.
Break down complex technical issues into actionable bullet points that non-technical teams can understand. Communicate with stakeholders including engineering, networking, security, image and color, and software development teams to provide comprehensive support for project completion.
Provide support and information as needed. Provide excellent customer service by identifying the needs and desires of interested parties and responding to their concerns and issues in an effective and timely manner.
Experience required
Extensive work experience and technical capabilities serving a professional DI / finishing environment. Knowledge of visual effects production processes and procedures.
