The Game Studio Tech Lab team is a small, dynamic team focused on creating experimental and creative games to support and guide Netflix's emerging technology investments that will make Netflix a great place for games of all kinds. These special projects will be a combination of demonstrating and inspiring what is possible with these new technologies and services as they work with partner organizations to help ensure a great development experience that provides developers a chance to focus on having fun. . The R&D Artist will work within a small team of multi-skilled game developers. As well as creating art in 2D and 3D graphics. The ideal candidate is somewhat technical and is able to help understand different creative game visions by being an effective contributor to multiple game projects.
The successful candidate will be a good generalist artist who can create many assets, environments and visual effects. You will be able to work in many types of 3D and 2D art with a good knowledge of the game development pipeline and knowledge of the impact of resources and real-time performance in important engines such as Unity and Unreal. In this job, you'll want to focus on speed and flexibility, rather than trying to burn and clean. Speed and productivity are more important in this job than the finished quality level.

WORK
Visual Development: Have visual versions of many small prototype projects. Create an exciting and visually rich style that can help make the design stand out. Prototyping: Working collaboratively with artists and engineers to modify and experiment with models to create effective and dynamic assets, 3D animations, 2D animations, animations, VFX and UI elements and 3D and 2D.
Art Direct and Outsourcing Management: Sometimes we will need to outsource development resources. You will manage these relationships from a technical input perspective, providing feedback
Is required
5+ years of experience as a game artist delivering an AAA or higher game, physical or mobile.
Rapid prototyping experience, creating stub assets to use in-game and testing new ideas
Collaborate with artists, engineers and designers to bring the project vision to life
Strong technical skills and experience and understanding of 3D and 2D animation production and equipment, visual effects, design, shading, optimization, text and lighting for games. Ability to work in multiple art forms, sometimes simultaneously
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with several game engine technologies such as Unity and Unreal
Interest in developing video games, especially in the fast-paced genre, is focused on small-scale compared to multi-year investments.
