Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. Candidates should have a background in the transportation industry as this position is within a well-established local trucking company. As the HR/Recruiting Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the human resources department, including driver /mechanic recruitment, employee on-boarding, employee relations and compliance with employment labor laws including FAMLI, FMLA and PTO. This is a key role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who can effectively manage HR processes and contribute to the overall success of our company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the driver recruitment process, including job postings, driver and mechanic candidate screening, interviewing, and selection of the top candidates
- Ensure compliance with employment labor laws and regulations
- Benefits coordinator including health benefits, PTO approval and tracking, Leave of Absence coordinator
- Retention and conflict resolution
- Assist with development and implementation of training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Utilize ATS systems (such as Tenstreet and ADP) to manage employee data and generate reports
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in human resources
Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role in transportation
- In-depth knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
- Strong recruiting skills of blue-collar professionals
-In-depth knowledge of D.O.T. regulations pertaining to hiring practices of commercial truck drivers
- Strong computer skills relating to Office Suite, ADP and independent company specific systems focused on employee management
- Experienced with social media marketing and management
- Familiarity with ATS systems (such as APD and Tenstreet) for managing employee data
