Position Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist position is an exciting opportunity for a diligent HR professional who seeks to learn, grow, and join a great team. The position requires the ability to act independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and anticipate the needs of the organization. This position will also support the Executive Assistant.
- Sourcing and recruiting candidates for open positions.
- Utilizing various sourcing strategies to identify and attract top talent.
- Provide guidance and support to local HR and managers throughout the recruiting process.
- Knowledge of benefit administration and answering questions.
- Submittal of benefit invoices and participating in company audits.
- Payroll support backup as needed.
- Knowledge of creating job descriptions and updating current ones.
- Support planning, and roll out of events such as open enrollment, town halls, and other organization-wide meetings.
- Assist with administration of leave of absence programs.
- Partner on development of policies and procedures.
- Participate in HR projects, and initiatives.
- Provide general support to the Human Resources team.
- Attend career and job fairs and build relationships with local schools.
- Support Executive Assistant on duties as needed.
- Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of the office and kitchen areas.
- Restock and order office and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Submit maintenance requests to the building on behalf of the office.
- Manage parking validations for employees and visitors.
- Coordinate parking contracts and agreements with relevant vendors.
- Prepare and affix FedEx shipment labels for outgoing packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- HR Certifications or commitment to obtain within the next year.
- 2 years of experience as an HR Administrative or related experience.
- 2 years of recruitment in chemical or manufacturing is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment best practices, and sourcing techniques.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Capable of analyzing problems and finding solutions.
- Travel to plants and/or job fairs as needed.
