On-Site Employee: An employee who works entirely within Amazon's premises or is split between Amazon's premises and a remote location. Users will live near or move to an Amazon location. A remote employee: The employee working in a distance for the weekly week, for more than 90 days in 12 months.

Incident Detection and Response (IDR) is part of the Escalation and Event Management (E2M) group and part of the larger AWS support. The IDR team is dedicated to alarm monitoring and incident management of the customer service portfolio. E2M handles critical escalations, customer communications, and management of large-scale customer-impacting events. E2M's mission is to improve operational quality and improve the overall customer experience. Please note that for this position, the main working hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. AEST/10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. AEDT. Please only apply for this job if you can meet these hours.
Emergency engineers have a wide range of skills with a proven track record of delivering results. The successful candidate will have analytical skills, a strong technical background, sound business judgment, strategic account management, and the ability to dive deep to solve complex problems. You will also be passionate about creating/delivering world-class experiences for our customers. The candidate must understand the ways of politics and business and must have leadership and communication skills to work effectively with clients at all levels of their business. You must be self-sufficient and able to do things in a systematic and methodical way - paying attention to detail.
