IT support engineers work closely with Amazon people to provide and support daily IT infrastructure and services. We treat Amazon users as our customers and provide immediate, accurate and professional support.
The Amazon IT Help Desk is the primary point of contact for technical service requests from Amazon Corporate and its partners worldwide. A successful IT Support Engineer will be customer focused and a team player. You will be innovative, dynamic and able to adapt quickly to new processes and procedures while handling large requests. You will also strive, adapt and demonstrate the ability to maintain high performance and maintain quality support.
Main Functions
Provide full technical support to Amazon office staff
Acquire and maintain current knowledge of IT policies necessary to provide users with the right technology solutions. Do shopping and asset management
Troubleshoot/support LAN and home servers through ticketing, notification, and change management
Create and maintain documents
Ticket queue management
Manage technical requests and projects to completion
Participate in shutdown and escalation programs of any system or network shutdown to minimize downtime.
Provide call support for Sev1 and Sev2 events
Manage level 1 increased support
Follow, update and create standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve organizational knowledge management. Daily commute required between Herndon/Arlington locations. Occasional travel to Baltimore and other US cities is required. After hours for required change requests.
This position requires the candidate to be a US citizen. eligibility criteria
Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer related field, or at least 2 years computer systems or relevant experience.
2+ years of experience in a help desk or site support environment
2+ years experience with Microsoft Windows 10 plus one or more of the following: Mac OS X, Linux. 2+ years of experience in network applications and concepts such as DNS, DHCP, OSI model and TCP/IP.
Lift or carry equipment up to 25 lbs as required

A+, Network+, ITF+
Some Linux system administration skills
Networking experience (CCNA, DNS, DHCP, translation, translation)
AV/VC experience
ITIL Foundation Certification
Strong verbal and written skills Demonstrated ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrate technical commitment and strong multitasking skills
Punctuality and punctuality are key requirements
Strong skills in troubleshooting complex systems
