Full Job Description:
ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Technical Manager to oversee and manage multiple productions throughout the year. Current productions include coverage of various parades, debates, the Pacific Air Show, and the Oscars before and after the show. Additionally, this position will serve as a project manager to assist in the design, implementation, commissioning and training of new systems and technologies at the KABC Broadcast Center.
Functions:
This role will be responsible for all aspects of production, including site inspections and on-site technical supervision. Must be able to solve problems efficiently and quickly and handle stressful situations quickly during the production process.
Manage team staff and scheduling, including coordinating the onboarding of new product related employees, with HR staff and direct managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process. Manage production budgets, equipment leases, food contracts with suppliers and labor logistics.
This role will be responsible for ticket system engineering, assisting station staff in the use and maintenance of the incident ticket database. Ensure full compliance with company standards and safety requirements in all areas of work.
Key features:
A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in television production or in a similar environment. Experience working in microwave radio, satellite linked and cellular video transmission.
Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with station management, production teams and outside vendors. Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) to accommodate a busy production schedule.
