Position Summary
- The Lead Data Center Technician position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of real-time transaction based wagering systems.
This role will take action to perform the operations duties and responsibility of the operations staff. Give direction to and work with the operations staff to ensure flows are processed and systems monitored. This position will pose as a liaison between the operations staff and the operational management team.
The Lead Operator will be called upon to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise in the computer operations arena with field and in-house staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Operate all computer systems in accordance with established schedules and quality guidelines
- Ability to give direction and feedback to the operations staff on work performed or designated
- Prioritize nightly processes to ensure performance of time critical schedule
- Clarify operating instructions for other department personnel as needed
- Run all programs for production systems
- Provide batch processing and tape backups
- Maintain accounting controls for tapes produced
- Log and report problems to management
- Must be able to prioritize tasks as assigned
- Must have a flexible work schedule and work overtime as assigned
- Ability to fill in for absent staff members to support the operations department
- Ability to work with field staff to troubleshoot and resolve different situations
- Strong customer service skills required
- Strong attention to detail is required to ensure all aspects of the operational environment is maintained
- Experience with UNIX, LINUX, and Windows based system
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Intermediate computer software and hardware technologies (i.e., Microsoft Office Products)
- Need to be able to work a schedule Wednesday - Sunday from 10am - 8pm
