This position has year round 260 day work calendar and is eligible for the following benefits:

Reports To: Learning Services Directors


Position Summary:

Support, coordinate, and facilitate projects/services provided by the Learning Services Directors to meet the instructional and assessment needs of students.


Essential Functions:

The Learning Services Coordinator will work as a leader with staff members, students, families, and the Learning Services team to coordinate the curriculum and assessments used throughout the District. This will include, but is not limited to: SBA, WCAS, and HiCap testing. Will oversee the fine arts coordination and evaluate associated staff.


Services or Program Coordination

  • Assessment
    • Coordinate with school-based assessment coordinators on state and district assessments
    • Train teachers and staff on assessment protocols, procedures, and systems
    • Communicate a variety of testing timelines to stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain a district-wide assessment calendar.
    • Coordinate annual/bi-annual survey administration from outside organizations (EES, Asset, HYS).
    • Act as the district assessment coordinator, alongside the state DAC (LS Director)
    • Arrange additional proctors for assessments
    • Provide on-site support during testing and assessment days
    • Manage and distribute physical materials associated with testing
      • i.e. generating test IDs and tickets
  • National Boards
    • Communicate with National Board candidates
    • Track the progress of current National Board candidates
    • Provide information for prospective candidates
    • Manage the payments for National Board completion
  • Curriculum and Technology Support
    • Assist teachers and schools with accessing curriculum materials as needed
    • Inventory current adoptions in schools and at the district office
    • Manage the organization of ordering and distributing materials
    • Support distribution and collection of technology devices
    • Summer School Support
    • Destination Imagination Oversight
  • Professional Development
    • Assist Learning Services as needed with research and design of professional development.
    • Secure locations for and resources for trainings hosted by Learning Services Directors
  • Other:
    • Oversee the Fine Arts Program for the District
    • Demonstrates commitment to share and implement the district’s vision and mission, including a commitment to the academic success and learning needs of all students
    • Manage fiscal resources, prepare budgets, and direct spending
    • Demonstrate positive relationship skills with students, parents, and district staff, maintaining ongoing and open communication.
    • Maintain and update corresponding MISD webpages with up-to-date information about the services, testing, and programs supported by the role.

 


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and evaluates staff related to the programs the coordinator is overseeing.

Education and/or Experience

  • Requires Washington state admin certificate.
  • Experience working with school teams across grade levels, departments, and content areas.
  • Experience with ordering; generating purchase orders, finalizing orders with curriculum companies, etc.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of tools to execute organization that promotes ease of access and clarity around curriculum and assessment.
  • Experience communicating with schools and families about testing details, reports, and data.
