Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position that works on average less than 20 hours a week. Additional hours may be required. This position has a flexible schedule that may vary based on agency needs at the discretion of the direct supervisor and/or CEO.
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician diagnoses and performs minor/routine maintenance and repairs for all the properties of Pioneer Resources. The Maintenance Technician may also do the same for select, outside entities on a non-routine basis.
Essential Functions:
- On a daily basis, diagnoses and performs minor/routine maintenance and repair functions. Typical categories of work include, but are not limited to:
- Simple Electrical -Plumbing
- Carpentry -Painting
- Appliances -Home systems (furnace, A/C, etc.)
- Roofing -Flooring
- Moving items -Cement
- Completes maintenance requests within 24 hours whenever possible. Responds immediately to emergencies.
- Provides creative solutions to repair issues.
- Conducts all business in accordance with Pioneer Resources policies and procedures as well as city, county, state and federal laws, i.e., OSHA, MSHDA, HUD, ADA.

Education/Talent Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), or technical school.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable according to Pioneer Resources’ Policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize both self and others’ workloads and work with minimal supervision; high degree of self-direction.
- Solid reasoning skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Basic computer skills required.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 1 year of construction or maintenance related experience.
- The ability to read and write English, and the ability to comprehend written instructions and record information. Basic math skills to measure and calculate quantities.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and a general knowledge of the trades.
