A Freight Forwarding Manager works in an administrative role at United Cargo. Duties include having more than $200 million in operating expenses, labor contracts governing 4,000 retail employees, and financial audit oversight of $300 million in expenses. This role is responsible for the implementation of all financial management and operational budgets of United Cargo for 100 vendors and serves as a point of reference during advanced contract negotiations. Internally, this position will be the primary liaison between corporate finance, purchasing, freight operations and freight management on all matters related to the operating budget. This service effectively balances United Cargo's financial performance, operational needs and supplier regions to secure United Cargo's position as the world's leading cargo carrier.
Cost Control: Control costs to ensure compliance. Responsible for meeting United Cargo's operating budget commitments through financial management for $250 million in operating expenses, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting, identifying/implementing creative ways to offset cost increases through efficiency and to hold jobs based on their budgets. Ensure that cost is carefully considered in all shipping decisions
Contract Approval: Primary business manager for all management contracts and various service contracts. Leads contract negotiations and coordinates discussions between freight operations, corporate finance, purchasing and freight management. These complex contracts cover $200 million in services across 120 different providers and 180 different airports. Ultimately, it is about ensuring that suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations and that these contracts reflect the needs of United Cargo's business.
Team Management: Responsible for leading the team in implementing all cost controls, financial presentations, negotiations, performance discussions and sales meetings. Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in a research or business related field (e.g. finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, accounting, etc.)
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, operations or business analysis
Experience in corporate financial management
Experience with ERP software (Oracle, Coupa, SAP)
Knowledge of corporate finance, financial analysis, project management and contract negotiation
Strong ability to provide financial data to partners at various levels
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Auditing ability to perform complex financial analysis
· Attention to detail; can quickly break down very large contracts
Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel)
Legal authorization to work in the United States should be given to anyone who works without a permit
Successful completion of the interview is required to meet professional qualifications
· Reliable and timely attendance is an essential function of the position
