Main functions:
The Congressional Business Director will lead a team of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of United's legislative goals and to promote the image of the United States and its name is to ensure that United Airlines is represented on Capitol Hill , and trade unions and all other unions. Washington. Additionally, this position will also oversee the growth and management of the American Political Action Committee (UAPAC), as well as United's external support and coalition efforts. will conduct research, review laws and follow events in the government that may affect our organization. This person will actively analyze policy to see what policy changes may be beneficial and events that may impact our business in the future. This position will require the ability to achieve United Airlines' goals on Capitol Hill and represent the best interests of the company. The ability to develop and maintain respectful and positive relationships with legislators and legislative staff and to represent the best business interests of United Airlines is essential. A knowledge of how Capitol Hill works is expected to be essential to success in this position. The ideal candidate is a proven team leader who can set the direction, plan and lead the growth of the AU political committee, foundation and advocacy. This position reports directly to the SVP, Government Affairs and Global Public Policy and will lead a team of three as well as manage a team of external runners.
Develop a strategy for the AU's legislative work. Responsible for implementing, developing and maintaining legislative information, including keynotes, legislative updates, letters to elected officials.
Coordinate programs and professional groups to collaborate on legislative initiatives and policies. Provide legal and regulatory support and advice on legislative risks and opportunities for business and commerce.
Political contributions and representation of United States political committees. Active room for AU interests in DC Develop strong relationships with Congressional offices. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and ethical requirements regarding running and any political activity. Organize and manage all media activities for UA staff and contract managers on Capitol Hill and represent the office on Capitol Hill and in legislative and executive committees.
