Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Deployment Engineer to create a dedicated cloud environment within our infrastructure team. As the dedicated cloud sector continues to expand and grow, Infrastructure Services is looking for vendors to meet the challenges of advanced network systems, and -give us the opportunity to stay in front of the customers' needs. As a network deployment engineer, you will work in a dynamic environment to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and help develop new ways to innovate and scale our networks. Duties include supporting support for multiple data centers and assisting with day-to-day capacity management. Engineers will work closely with internal customers and vendors to support successful project execution as directed by technical program managers.
The candidate should be self-directed, have good communication skills, have strong written and communication skills, and have the passion to support a large corporate network. Excellent networking and troubleshooting skills with proven documentation skills are also required. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with peers and clients are required. Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced social environment is essential. In addition to providing high-level management and support of Amazon's large network infrastructure, logistics engineers will create or improve tools, create best practices, refine operational processes, and constantly think. This position requires the candidate to be a US citizen and must possess and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance to work on the polygraph.
Main Functions
• Communicate project status and project constraints clearly to senior management and project management. • Performs device manufacturing and wiring support.
• Manage carrier programs and perform assurance tasks. • Supports network configuration service deployment during scheduled change management windows.
• Participate in deployments (perhaps after hours), configuration and deployment of new or upgraded hardware
• Answer customer questions through Remedy's trouble ticket system
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove work barriers
• Diagnose network, routing, and connectivity issues, including network device configuration issues and low application compatibility.
• Provide simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes. • Manage tasks and priorities through ticketing and work processes
Eligibility Criteria
• Current and active US government security clearance for TS/SCI with polygraph
• 3+ years of senior level and/or industry experience as a technical or engineering professional in a critical environment; OR A combination of higher education and technology-related experience
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
• Broad understanding of infrastructure technology
• Experience with equipment cabling best practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of common network terms. • Working knowledge of Layer 1 troubleshooting
• Up to 20% travel may be required.
