Full job description
WPEC is looking for a Technical Director for our morning newscasts! The successful candidate will be responsible for coding and executing newscasts using Ross Overdrive production automation software in collaboration with producers and fellow directors. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants the chance to learn automated production systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare newscasts for air using Ross Overdrive automation software
- Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and recordings using Overdrive
- Maintain production studio and control room
- Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
- Maintain a high standard of quality for his/her own work
Requirements:
- Proficient in the use of basic computer systems (Windows Operating System) and software
- Experience Directing and TDing newscasts, studio shows or sporting events
- Knowledge of production standards and equipment
- Ability to clearly give direction to crew under tight deadlines and during live production
- Typing skill and good spelling necessary
- Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
- Must be able to work well in a team environment
- Experience with Ross xPression is a plus
- Experience with Ross acuity or carbonite switchers is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible schedule which may include overnights, weekends and holidays
