Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated, Operations Manager to join our TEAM. This is a new highly visible position created as part of Bingham and Taylor’s Plant Manager succession planning process. This role will lead comprehensive foundry functions from safety, material procurement to final product delivery. The ideal candidate will have a technical background with extensive manufacturing leadership experience, specifically demonstrating Lean manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Safety and Quality: Collaborate with functional leaders from Safety and Quality to leverage Human
Performance knowledge and skills to drive to zero in safety and quality.- Strategic Goals: Partner with Plant Manager to develop and achieve Strategic Goals. Determine accountability,
- Staff Management: Oversee staff recruitment, selection, training, and performance appraisal, fostering a
- Operational Strategies: Develop functional objectives aligned with organizational goals, evaluating trends, and
- Continuous Improvement: Drive results through collaborative TEAM based problem-solving, management of
- Financial Planning: Take ownership and accountability for KPIs that achieve financial commitments.
- Process Operation: Establish operating conditions for foundry equipment based on formulations and feed
- Performance Monitoring: Deploy and improve key performance indicators, ensuring productivity, quality, and
- Resource Management: Manage material procurement, inventory control, and cost reduction strategies,
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operations and
- Furnace Maintenance: Coordinate with Maintenance to oversee and support induction furnace relining and
- Professional Development: Bingham and Taylor values learning and development for all TEAM members. Stay

Education / Experience:
- Minimum BS Degree required in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in a foundry setting with induction melt furnaces is a plus.
- Maintenance and/or engineering experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of the safety regulations and environmental laws applicable to the foundry industry.
- Demonstrated practical experience with Lean manufacturing processes and Continuous Improvement.
Knowledge:
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other
techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools,
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area that require the use of personal protective equipment: Steel toed shoes, Safety Glasses, hard hat, and hearing protection.
Primary environment: Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machines. Short term exposure of temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Industrial lighting provided.
