PURPOSE AND ROLE
The Project Engineering Construction Manager reports directly to the Project Engineering Lead. In this role, The Construction Manager is expected to be a liaison for contractors working for Calumet. By working closely with contractors, the Construction Manager will streamline: communication, expectations, performance, and execution including invoicing checks and timecard management.
KEY OBJECTIVES/RESPONSIBLITIES
- Ensure by leadership that all work is performed safely and in accordance with all Calumet procedures.
- Work with Project Engineers during project scope development and planning.
- Conduct contractor evaluations and provide input during contractor selection.
- Manage project ‘Kick-off’.
- Execute digging permits.
- Execute lift permits.
- Work with contractors throughout & rectify any construction issues.
- Work with Safety Personnel to maintain a safe work environment.
- Help to maintain the project schedule.
- Maintain environmental requirements.
- Work with all departments affected by the project construction.
- Maintain as-built drawings.
- Responsible for project reporting.
- Review productivity of each contractor per job.
- Review timesheets and invoicing.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Project Management skills and construction experience a plus.
- 5 years’ experience in a industrial facility is desired.
- A good working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Project, & Bluebeam Revu.
- Candidates must have demonstrated commitment to personnel and process safety, environmental protection, and community relations.
- Detailed working with Process Safety Management (PSM) is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of API & ASME codes a plus
- Computer proficiency required.
