WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Specialist 1 in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.
Job Summary
Seeking an analytical individual with strong communication and organizational skills to primarily support federal regulatory compliance efforts, including proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Individuals in this role will work on a variety of federal regulatory issues including support of regulatory filings, market power-related concepts, cost of service ratemaking, and RTO/ISO processes. The Project Specialist will also support state regulatory matters, as necessary.
This position is part of a job family (Project Specialist 1, Project Specialist 2, Project Specialist 3, Senior Project Specialist). Experience will be the determining factor. A hybrid work arrangement (remote/in office) may be available for this position.
Job Responsibilities
- Supporting business activities intended to ensure compliance with FERC requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on FERC related developments
- Preparing and submitting basic documents to FERC
- Coordinating updates to training presentations
- Supporting preparation and submission of regulatory applications and pleading to FERC
- Support state regulatory initiatives/projects, as necessary, including the development of technical cost allocation models and the collection of data from various corporate users in support thereof.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.- Minimum of one year of professional experience in utility operations or related field preferred with an emphasis in accounting, finance, compliance or regulatory.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access (or other similar database technologies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
