What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient developer specializing in Script Writing to join our team. The Script Developer will be responsible for developing our upgrade and installation patches for clients. The candidate will be responsible for managing the patch management lifecycle and ensuring that patches are deployed in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate must have very strong script writing skills, strong Linux, AIX, and DB2 skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:
- Create and/or modify scripts for patches for clients
- Monitor patch releases and security bulletins to identify vulnerabilities and required patches.
- Function as an integral part of the implementation team, assisting as assigned to address client support issues.
- Download, test, and package partner upgrade and installation patches for clients.
- Assist in the management of the patch management lifecycle and ensure that patches are deployed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with the development team to test patches and ensure they are compatible with existing systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to patch management processes, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain historical records by documenting patch development and revisions.
- Work with clients to ensure patching schedules are established and followed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients on patch management related issues.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Why You Are The Perfect Fit
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in writing complex “shell” scripts with 1+ years’ experience
- Linux and AIX experience
- Highly skilled in troubleshooting third-party software problems.
- Knowledge of:
o AIX, AIX security patches
o RHEL security patches
o DNF or Dandified YUM package manager for Linux distributions
o Db2, Db2 releases, security patches
o Tomcat, Tomcat Upgrades
o JasperReports Server
o OpenSSL, OpenSSH Upgrades
o OpenSSL/OpenSSH security patches
o AIX Java security patches
o AIX Java upgrades
o Experience with patch management tools such as IBM BigFix, and DNF
o Knowledge of IT security best practices and standards
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology-related field or equivalent number of years of experience
