the Senior Accountant at Belmont Park, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of one of the premier amusement parks and entertainment destinations. Your responsibilities will revolve around overseeing various financial activities to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and Belmont Park LLC’s policies.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against targets and providing insights to management.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for management.
General Ledger Management and Compliance:
- Maintain the general ledger system, including chart of accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions.
- Review revenue transactions, apply appropriate accounting standards, and coordinate with sales and marketing departments to ensure alignment with contractual terms.
- Assist in preparing tax returns, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and work with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and filings.
- Evaluate and enhance internal control procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Cost Management and Process Improvement:
- Analyze and allocate costs across departments and projects, implementing cost control measures and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, implement best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives, resolve financial issues, and support the organization's mission.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
