Sr Director, Global Trade Operations, Grade 33

Job Description

• Govern process documentation structure, including developing policies, procedures, and guidelines supporting Global Trade Compliance standards.
• Experience developing global standards and policies, as well as compliance targets and metrics to track success of the Trade Compliance program.
• Advise the business on evolving and existing cross-border trade regulations
• Develop and maintain Trade Compliance training program including general awareness, technical training, and job required training curriculums.
• Ensure global processes are maintained to meet internal changes and external regulations.
• Support global implementation of import and export data and technology solutions
• Prior experience with global trade management systems such as SAP GTS or similar systems.
• Assess trade compliance program for maturity against benchmarks, advise on capability gaps, and ensure adequate gap closure plans are implemented.
• Manage the Business Continuity Program for Supply Chain to support the overall Risk Management program.
• Oversee the Global REACH program for the company – ensure proper processes and guidelines for hazardous and dangerous goods is maintained across the supply chain.
• Advanced degree or trade compliance certification
• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry (FDA/HPRA)
• Customs Broker License and/or similar professional trade certifications Expert knowledge of Customs Regulations
• Responsible for expediting the import/export process by liaising with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing Sites, Customer Service and Supply Chain
• Manage issues related to proper legal interpretation and determination of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Country of Origin designations, Customs Valuations, C-TPAT, AEO (and other related certifications) and drive duty optimization activities.
• Trade Analysis, Export License determination, new products, R&D
• Agile with Incoterms Rules

The salary range for this position is: $237,660.00 - $307,560.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
