DESCRIPTION:
As Clinical Pharmacy Manager, you:
- Provide direct oversight and support to the Clinical Pharmacist Prior Authorization Coverage Determination/Review team, Quality Analysts, and Pharmacy Technical Leadership team.
- Oversee the entire pre-authorization and appeals process for state Medicaid programs, including Pharmacist Review of Medical Drugs (PRMD). Also responsible for updating the reject language and applying applicable policies.
- Ensure all CMS, state and NCQA compliance requirements are met.
- Conduct robust internal audits to ensure compliance and contractual requirements.
- Meet or exceed all monthly response time requirements (>99%).
- Recruit, mentor and train staff members, including pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians.
- Implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Work closely and nurture relationships with matrix partners (eg, health plan leadership, case management, quality).
- Work with health plan pharmacy directors to provide excellent customer service to health plans and members.
- Full support and case submission during internal and external audits (CMS, NCQA, NORC, OIG).
- Prepare and submit monthly CMS, Status and Compliance reports.
- Satisfy all health plan contractual requirements to complete prior authorization reviews within the required turnaround time.
This is a remote home business position open to candidates in the United States who have an active pharmacist license in Texas and/or Columbus.
