Yelp is looking for a Senior Product Manager to build a sophisticated advertising strategy and algorithm. In this highly visible and impactful role, you will work in the product area to increase the advertising value of our market for businesses and local employees by developing and implementing whiteboard algorithms and advertising strategies information and marketing. What to do:
Build algorithms that determine ad quality, match and cost across multiple sources of ad inventory. Develop and implement strategic models to effectively distribute, match and connect advertisers and customers.
Conduct and conduct research to better understand what is happening in our media market and identify new areas for our engineering team to focus on. Optimize social media tools to drive more profit for advertisers and increase their long-term revenue.
What it takes to be successful:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Experience as a product manager in an applicable company with a background in physics, mathematics, systems engineering, economics, or any relevant field that allows you to become familiar with media strategy development.
Technical Expert: Experience solving complex, business-critical technical problems. Problem Solving: likes to break down complex, unstructured problems into bite-sized pieces, and build short- and long-term plans from there; you can do your own research using iPython and SQL.
Effective communicator: able to communicate and translate between technical and non-technical audiences; effectively communicates complex issues to stakeholders from different parts of the organization. Operational knowledge: hard at work improving processes around media system reliability and metrics analysis, always thinking about how to make processes more successful.
Strong partner: Enjoys working across teams, projects and time zones.
