As a Product Manager at Storefront, you will use your leadership, product knowledge and technical skills to create a world-class shopping experience for all of our customers (current and future). You will lead a technology team with a unique set of team members dedicated to engineering, design, user research, and research. You will shape our technology culture, collaborate, coach, innovate, deliver and grow your work. Our GraphQL Platforms team is building one of the most important data structures that all of Wayfair will use to power their space and we're doing it with cutting-edge technology. Although the move to GraphQL is still new for Wayfair, the ecosystem handles more than 10 billion queries per month. The Wayfair GraphQL team has been invited to conferences and community events, and influenced the direction of the larger GraphQL specification. By doing this work, you will have the opportunity to take this process to the other side, teaching others how to maintain a very high performance, stable and scalable system. You will also learn how to influence many different company leaders in different areas with direct support from your manager. In the end, the team was really amazing. What to do:
Lead product discovery, strategy and roadmap for Wayfair's GraphQL platform
Get a long-term vision for Wayfair's pervasive technology revolution
Communicate your product to help the organization understand your vision and how it helps achieve its goals
Create managerial marketing through insight, translating domain-specific expertise into communications for a broad and senior audience
Lead a complex process that spans multiple product and business areas, ensuring coordination and transparency are sufficient to achieve the right results for Wayfair.
Keep your team healthy and engaged, engage with your prospects to improve processes, build trust and celebrate wins
Contribute to Wayfair's leadership role in the global GraphQL community
What you will need:
7+ years of software product management experience with a focus on data-driven product discovery. Experience in technical products leading cross-organizational initiatives.
You manage the platform and can identify the full potential that meets specific customer needs, turning ideas into visions and maps for what the platform can become.
You work closely with your engineers as you shape construction and can follow high-tech discussions
Experience and/or interest in managing the product development process and working with customers who are part of one of the companies.
Experience working at scale (volume of developers and web traffic)
Understanding of quality and performance issues (latency, scalability, availability, flame graph)
Strong communication skills; can explain complex technical concepts to non-audiences, but feel comfortable talking to engineers. Knowledge of Federated GraphQL (Keywords, GraphQL, Federation, Apollo, Gateway, Router, Schema Registry, Operation Registry)
Transitional experience in a role-based industry
Familiarity with OKR strategy and KPI specification for development platforms.
