ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
OpenStore is building a world class Consumer Growth team and is looking for a builder who has deep SEO experience to lead the company’s SEO strategy and operations. We have a unique model, where we operate dozens of individual DTC brands, each of which has its own website. The SEO Lead will develop an SEO playbook that can be applied to all of these sites, manage the implementation of this playbook across priority sites, and partner with the Engineering and Storefronts teams to develop processes, systems and tools that allow for scalable investment in content & authority.
This is a very senior IC role with a potential to hire a small team based on demonstrated impact. First, we must stand up the function and initial strategy, and deliver impressive results with focused investments and resources.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Own channel results, actions, roadmap, strategy, and prioritization

Develop a programmatic SEO strategy and content working closely with engineering team

Lead keyword analysis and traditional content creation

Manage technical components of SEO to drive domain authority

Partner with the Engineering, Data Science and Consumer Growth teams to develop scalable mechanisms for growing organic traffic and sales across dozens of sites (e.g. reviews/UGC content generation, cross-portfolio analytics, content monetization)

Serve as the company’s resident SEO expert, weighing in on technology decisions, brand acquisition reviews and changes in the external environment

You’ve done it before. You’ve kick-started an SEO strategy before and led SEO efforts through a phase of rapid growth. You’ve made mistakes, learned lessons and are excited to do it again. Your experience will help us avoid pitfalls and move faster.

You are strategic. You’re focused on where you’re going and build the strategies and plans to achieve the goal. You’re not afraid to admit something didn’t work and have backup plans brewing for your next test.
WHAT YOU HAVE:

You have 8+ years of professional experience with a track record of escalating impact and responsibility

You have 5+ years of SEO experience at one or several consumer brands, marketplaces or retailers

You are comfortable working with internal teams and external resources, serving as the primary facilitator of a multi-threaded strategy

Demonstrated experience with the following tools:

Technical SEO Tools, e.g. Screaming Frog, Lumar (Deepcrawl), Oncrawl, Botify

General SEO Tool, e.g. Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Brightedge.

Data Manipulation Tools, e.g. Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, SQL

Data Visualization Tool, e.g. Mode, Snowflake, Tableau

Compensation Range: $160K - $215K
