We are seeking a Generated Gas Supervisor for the 250T ASU located in Petersburg, VA. The facility produces gaseous oxygen, liquid oxygen, and crude argon.
The Site Supervisor will support all aspects of the day-to-day plant operations. This will include customer interface, business interface, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, as well as employee training. This role will require the successful candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site’s operation, distribution, and maintenance activities, with specific areas of focus on leadership. Effective communication skills and strong organizational skills are essential.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Management of the site’s Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company’s efforts to drive to a goal of zero injuries.
- Ensuring environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
- Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
- Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operations to include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities, and managing plant projects.
- Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
- Implementing and sharing best practices.
- Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years of relevant operations/maintenance experience in an industrial plant is preferred.
- A degree in engineering or in a technical field is a plus but not required. Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- Clean driving record required.
- A self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to develop talent.
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong administrative/computer skills
