Responsibilities

Ready to make an impact? Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to develop TT&C and Satellite Mission Management software in support of our mission critical customers and COTS software products. This position is located in Melbourne, FL. Flexible for occasional telework - must be local to work location.

This position will be responsible for the following:

Performing system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. This includes the test and integration of COTS-based systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system.
 

• Position will require the generation of complex test procedures for the validation and verification of software components written in Java and C and to analyze requirements for integration and/or testability issues.
• Develops and implements software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance.
• Able to plan, support and lead test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports.
• Recognizes and adopts best practices in documentation, testing and efficient use of resources.
• Utilizes basic administration and configuration of RedHat Enterprise Linux in order to resolve configuration issues and integrate Red Hat Linux systems with other existing environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

:
 

• BS/BA and a minimum of 2 years of experience, or MS/MA with 0 years of experience, or a High School diploma and 6+ years of experience.
• Experience with software development methodologies and life-cycles; specifications and testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools and developing tests scripts using Python and T&C Control Languages.
• Experience with RedHat Linux with the ability to administer the configuration and lab set-up, providing solutions for issues or integrated lab efficiencies.
• Active/Current Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Experience with the Atlassian software development and test toolset.
• Experience in Satellite Ground Station - Command and Control applications and software integration and troubleshooting experience of complex, multi-application systems, as well as Satellite Mission Planning Software.
• Communicates effectively with management, peers, and the customer.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
