Full job description
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data ingestion solutions. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements, creating detailed architectural plans, and ensuring seamless integration of diverse data sources into the Enterprise Data Lake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, architecture, and a deep understanding of data management principles.
As a solution architect you are expected to:
1. Think long-term and strategically.
2. Delegate / Empower Tech Leads to low level design; collaborate with Tech
Leads on High level solution design.
3. Design/Solution for the use-cases in your domain.
4. Blueprinting your domain use cases
5. Participate in the discovery early on (It is not a hand-off process)
6. Reviewing and time-boxing the solutions ahead of time (2 sprints ahead)
7. Apply and refine integration patterns (approved)
8. Collaborate and influence other architects to align on data solution
architecture & DEME principles and patterns.
9. Influence to move towards the future state while being pragmatic - do not
take shortcuts.
10. Selling Data team strategy, principles, patterns, and adoptions.
11. Partner with PO and EM on EPIC/features or tech platform strategy
respectively
12. Co-Lead/Co-Chair any applicable CoP with Product Manager
The Senior Solutions Architect is a trusted advisor, influencer and thought leader whose IT expertise and business knowledge combines to translate business objectives into technology-enabled solutions that deliver the capabilities needed to achieve business results. Influences technology strategy and advises senior leaders based on knowledge and perspective. Applies business, industry and technical knowledge (across multiple assets, domains, platforms, technologies, vendors, etc.) to lead the delivery of innovative solutions. Provides leadership to appropriately support and maintain technology capabilities. Collaborates across domains to understand business, information and system implications. Comfortable dealing with ambiguity while solves complex problems, drives innovation and strives for continuous improvement. Focuses on the broader Thrivent Enterprise while collaborating with leaders, verbally and in writing, to align business and technical concepts in an understandable way. Mentors, trains and coaches staff.
