Full job description

The Regeneron Genetics Center IT group seeks a Sr Applications Developer to support the breakthrough research being conducted in the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC). As a developer in RGC, you would be building tools and APIs to interact with our vast amounts of genetic data.

As a Sr Applications Developer, a typical day might include:
Creating solutions across the entire stack from web applications to cloud based APIs and services using TypeScript, Python and AWS services.

Brainstorming innovative approaches to managing and querying big data.

Developing decoupled UIs written in React.

Engaging with internal clients to understand use cases and gather feedback.

Utilizing AWS services (Athena, Redshift, Aurora, Lambda, ECS, etc...) for developing containerized and serverless applications in the cloud

Prioritizing and completing multiple initiatives in an agile environment.

Coordinating cloud based (AWS) infrastructure with DevOps team.

Keeping informed of new and emerging technologies to incorporate into our technical stack.

Ensuring alignment to architecture guidelines and frameworks related to logging, authentication, security, error recovery, etc.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher with at least 2 years of relevant IT experience including 6+ years of building applications out in the cloud and JavaScript development. Expert knowledge of web application and cloud-based architecture patterns including hands on experience with the following: React, Typescript, AWS services such as Lambda and RDS, MySQL/PostgresSQL. Level commensurate based upon experience and qualifications.
