Systems Administrator – Level 2
Job Summary:
The System Administrator II is responsible for systems across Quanta Fremont’s Campus. You will work extensively on corporate infrastructure (both on-prem and in the cloud) utilizing your broad knowledge and experience of networks and systems, including Meraki firewalls, Cisco switches, WAPS, Microsoft
365, Azure, Veaam, Trend Micro, and more.
This position is onsite (as required) at one of the Quata buildings in Fremont. Travel to other locations may be periodically required, including some after-hours and weekend project work as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all Systems related issues and tasks are resolved in a timely manner.
- Install software updates and patches to workstations/servers. Maintain rotating automated reboot schedule for selected servers and run weekly updates.
- Ensure technology-driven changes are aligned with the organization's broader expectations and plans, including proactively communicating to users when impacted.
- Identify and pursue new and innovative ways to improve processes, delivery of networks, systems, and technology solutions in general.
IT Industry/domain Knowledge
- Keep abreast of current and timely Networking/Systems/Security related issues and events.
- Maintain a broad industry perspective on best practices for networking, system administration, and other relevant technologies.
- Maintain anti-virus software for appropriate response to malware or an outbreak.
- Be an active 'sys admin' and 'networking' resource within the team, helping with driving automation efforts, security and auditing, and installation and management of corporate systems and networks.
Business Partnership
- Maintain strong communication when approaching issues with an ability to assess quickly, facilitate resolution with the appropriate parties, and respond with a sense of urgency.
- Use active listening to understand customer needs and recommend the appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with 3rd party vendors providing various technology services.
- Provide technical oversight and/or assistance (as required) of projects related to company growth (e.g., new office builds, directory restructuring,) and other initiatives.
- Enter requests and work into a ticketing system so reporting, alerting, and escalation can occur.
Team collaboration and lead
- Work closely and actively as part of a broader team of IT professionals. In addition, help provide coverage and support as needed.
- Take a lead role with the networking and sys admin functions across all sites. Including providing direction, mentoring, and growth opportunities to other team members in these areas.
Knowledge Sharing and availability
- Ensure documentation is captured appropriately and is easily accessible to the broader IT team.
- Be available off hours for scheduled system maintenance and emergencies.
- This position requires non-business hour on-call remote support as well as occasional weekend coverage.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science preferred or 10 years’ relevant work experience.
- At least 5 years' experience and an advanced understanding of Networking/Security fundamentals.
- At least 5 years' experience and an advanced understanding of designing, administering, configuring, and supporting Microsoft O365 environments (e.g., Exchange,
- OneDrive/SharePoint, Teams).
- Azure administration experience a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Windows server 2019 installation and management both physical and virtual.
- Solid and broad 'generalist' technical background that includes networking, systems, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and IT support.

Salary Range
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
