Would you like to be part of a team that contributes to every stage of the Disney Attractions life cycle, from Blue Sky to Sustainment? The Modeling, Simulation, and Training Tools (MST) Engineer team will report to the Team Leader - Systems Engineering and build software tools used to provide simulation and analysis services. Worldwide engineering for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), Park Services business lines, transportation, engineering services, entertainment and other global engineering and technology partners. These services include level-level simulations of our rides and attractions; Software-In-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) software configuration/analysis platforms; multiple models; teaching courses; great travel simulations; statistical analysis; simulations of dynamic electromechanical and robotic control systems; completion analysis; strong or highly flexible simulations; and the development of signal processing and optimization algorithms.
On a daily basis, as a systems engineer, you can:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be both a developer and an employee of our in-house engineering company. You will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team, in a hybrid working environment.
Write code for desktop applications and software APIs for internal engineering and creative partners. Collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Creative, WDI Ride, Industrial Engineering, and MST to identify new equipment requirements and use cases.
Write detailed documentation for software, both for developers and users. Help users diagnose and fix bugs in distributed software.
Provide multidisciplinary teams with hardware and software expertise to streamline purchasing decisions and process planning. Develop and analyze complete machine simulations at the system level using various simulation software and software development environments.
Visit the construction and operation sites to understand their work ethic and take action.
Here's what you need to be successful in this job:
1+ years of experience developing, implementing, and testing Windows desktop applications using C#, C++, and/or C.
Expertise in object-oriented design principles. Willingness to learn new technologies and languages and apply them to solve engineering problems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with partners, internal customers and employees. Group testing experience in writing and regression analysis for software.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and analyze software defects to develop and implement solutions. Learn to use engineering tools in a software development environment (eg Visual Studio).
Familiarity with Agile software development practices including scrum, sprint planning, iteration, etc. Understanding of source control tools like Git and continuous integration tools like GitLab CI or similar.
Excellent educational background in physics and mathematics, including differential equations and modeling physical models.
