The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for executing various Human Resources related tasks at the professional level, with limited supervision. Their key role is to efficiently source, recruit, and hire top talent for our university. They collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing requirements and formulate effective strategies to attract and engage qualified candidates.
Essential Functions
Recruit candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks.
Screen resumes and participate in interview committees to assess candidates' qualifications.
Manage the recruitment process from start to finish, including job postings, interviews, Job offers, and rejection notices.
Ensure positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
Responsible for reviewing and approving employment requisitions.
Monitors and maintains internal tracking system up to date with incoming requests.
Conducts full-cycle recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel; develops recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill specific job openings. May perform reference checks or schedule interviews in some cases.
Provides information about the organization and job opportunities to potential applicants; coordinates, sets up displays for participation in job fairs.
Creates and manages job postings and collaborates with external sources to advertise job openings to attract applicants.
Maintains a heavy administrative process, generates reports on quarterly metrics, and oversees the maintenance and administration of the applicant tracking system.
Tracks applicant pool for compliance purposes, generating reports based on this data.
Responsible for maintaining and updating all recruitment information in internal systems and folders.
Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in the efficiency of the department and services provided.
Participates in developing goals and objectives for respective areas of responsibility and improving HR processes and systems; administers various human resources plans and procedures, assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains policies and procedures manuals.
Responsible for reviewing, tracking, and updating internal forms utilized for position classifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for closing out all recruitment efforts, including but not limited to, effectively updating statuses in Peoplesoft, generating offer letters, gathering all recruitment related documentation.
Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
May assist in various onboarding and immigration duties, ensuring that employees have proper documentation for eligibility to work in the U.S.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and other various types of meetings and seminars. Participation in annual campus functions and events such as commencement, convocation, retirement activities, health fairs, and job fairs. Occasional travel may be required.
Keeps abreast of law changes through UT System. Complies with all State and University policies.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.

Experience: Three years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
