SUMMARY
Work as part of a team to support tasting room operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty, and reflects the brand essence. Principal functions include; POS (Commerce7) operations, share product and general wine knowledge with consumers, present & pour wines, general hospitality, wine sales, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares the tasting room for opening and/or closing.
- Presents, pours and educates the consumer on selected wines for tasting and assists consumers with their purchases.
- Acts as an informed resource for consumers regarding wines, availability of products and brand awards and accolades.
- Operates POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Stocks merchandise & supplies, cleans, and organizes tasting room & other Hospitality areas.
- Checks identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages.
- Recognizes the symptoms of intoxication and informs other staff members when issues arise.
- Represents the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Presents oneself in a professional, put together manner on a daily basis and adheres to appearance and attire standards set forth by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- 21 years of age or older and ability to obtain an ABC or TIPS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work weekends (until 10pm on Fri & Sat), evenings and some holidays, and a flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week. Weekend availability is required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have a passion for wine and a willingness to learn more about wine on your own time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of tasting room, food & beverage or hospitality experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Skilled in communication, presentation, sales and customer service.
- Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Knowledge of wine, wine growing and wine production.
- Knowledge of Santa Barbara County and/or Central Coast wine industry.
- Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations.
