Full Job Description:
Transporters will perform the movement of semi-trailers in the trailer park, organize household activities (such as trailer entry, traffic, internal communications and operations, etc.), operate the park , comprehensive driver training programs (Hostler, CDL schools, etc.). ), and also operates many types of vehicles (including but not limited to visitors and day taxis) to support the Amazon delivery network. You are applying for a DOT regulated position. This position follows the guidelines issued by the Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Award is contingent on passing DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical examination.
Due to the state's federal employment regulations, applicants must be 21 years of age or older. Applicant must hold an appropriate state driver's license, be able to obtain and maintain a Driver's Qualification Record (DQF) and Driver's License (CDL), and be licensed to drive as required by the Department of Transportation ( DOT). Amazon does not support immigration, including H-1B, TN, and other nonimmigrant visas, for this job.
• Follow company rules and regulations and always make safety a priority.
• Performs various duties within the park, supporting site crews, housekeeping and parking attendants as necessary to ensure parking all coming in and out on time without a single scratch and to keep working for the house.
• Drives commercial vehicles (CMV) on non-public roads or parks to transport trailers to/from docks and parking lots. • Drive the CMV on public roads as necessary while staying on designated roads and using approved equipment.
• Comply with DOT agency policies, procedures and regulations (size, weight, road title, parking space, trailer title, damage and incident reporting requirements, rest periods, etc.).
• Detailed vehicle inspection reports and equipment and inform management of any maintenance or transmission problems encountered. • Work with the receptionist on delivery schedules, track and report work and rest hours in a timely manner, follow park safety policies, obey all traffic laws, and drive according to weather and road conditions available.
• Works mainly outdoors and drives a variety of vehicles on the road. • Works at sites close to the area required to support the business
• Drive, maneuver and load/unload trucks with approved equipment (pallet trucks, etc.).
• Lift up to 49 kilograms, stand and walk for 12 hours, twisting, pulling, squatting, bending and stretching repeatedly.
• Acts as a peer coach as needed to support the business. • Associate will be required to obtain a Driver's Qualification Record (DQF) and Driver's License (CDL) as a condition of the job.
